Classroom Expectations
Technology Policy
Students will be using technology in this class. Students may access only websites or use applications that they have been instructed to use. Students are responsible for any device they use which includes paying fines for any damage caused. Students must use their assigned ChromeBook.
Cell Phone Policy
The official Edgewood policy is that cell phones are not to be used during class time. Cell phones must remain out of sight in the classroom and will not be used for any reason. Cell phones will be confiscated and turned into the office if they are in sight during class.
Homework Policy
Students are expected to work consistently during class. Homework will rarely be “assigned”. However, if students do not finish the classwork during the time provided, and it is due the following day, they will need to take assignments home to finish. Homework will also include studying for upcoming assessments. Students are expected to stay after school if assignments are missing. They can finish assignments in Science Zone with Mr. N. on Wednesdays (not available during fall) or on Mondays with 6th grade teacher Mrs. Bloomgren. Homework is due into the inbox at the start of class.
Grading Policy
All work must be turned in by the deadline. Assignments not turned in, or submitted after the deadline, will be entered as 55% in the gradebook. Students will be expected to stay after school either with myself or at the after school program to finish any incomplete or missing work. Students may redo work to improve mastery. Students may retake an assessment for a higher score. Only one retake is allowed.
We will use a standard grading scale:
A 94-100 %
A- 90-93 %
B+ 87-89 %
