A bit about me:
This is now my sixth year as a teacher at Edgewood Middle School. Prior to working in Moundsview, I spent 8 years as an 7/8th grade science teacher in Portland, OR. Before working for Portland, I taught in Beaverton, OR as a high school science teacher, in Oakland, CA as a 7th and 8th grade life and physical science teacher, and in Aurora, CO as a 6th grade science and social studies teacher. Relocating to new schools has taught me a lot about the teaching profession as I learn from the many educators I have collaborated with. I received my Bachelors of Science in Earth Science from Michigan State University and my Masters in Special Education with an Autism Spectrum Disorder focus from St. Joseph’s University.
The start of the school year is an important time for the students to get to know my classroom expectations, and for me to get to know about the many personalities and perspectives of the students. Throughout the year we will work to create an efficient, productive, and caring classroom environment.
If you have any insight about your child that will help me as we work together, please do not hesitate to share. As the year progresses and questions arise, please do not hesitate to ask. I encourage you to ‘check in’ as often as you like. I correspond quickest through email, but welcome any form of communication.
Your student will be in science class for 49 minutes / school day, and I try to make sure this time is as productive as possible.
Chad M. Naberhaus
